What we do

The Teesside Branch of Cats Protection has been involved in cat rescue since November 1978.

We take in unwanted and stray cats and kittens.

After a vet check-up, all cats/kittens over the age of 4 months are neutered, vaccinated and  ID chipped.
Kittens are vaccinated at eight weeks. (first Vacc)

All are looked after (fostered) by a small band of volunteers - some have a spare room, some have pens in their gardens.
All of them have been checked for suitability by Lisa from HQ and visited yearly  and advised of any changes and updates to working practices.
All of the accomodation used for fostering is cleaned and disinfected after every cat/kitten to negate the risk of infections.

A home visit to the prospective new home will be made.
Prospective new owners will be invited to visit and see cats/kittens prior to a decision to rehome.
Cats/kittens are always delivered to their new home.

Adoption fees are as follows;
adult cats,  £60-00
kittens - £60-00 included is Full Vaccination, Neutering, ( at the correct age), and ID chipping.
The cost of this to us is £130 to £150!

Donations over and above the fee are very welcome - it allows us to continue the work in the future
